Questioncan turtles [specifically red ear sliders] lay eggs/have babies in a tank environment? is there anything special i need to do to ensure the hatching of possible eggs?
AnswerIf a turtle lays eggs in water, they will be infertile. It takes a small tub of soil to lay eggs in, and not all turtles in captivity will bother.
In general, we do not recommend breeding turtles unless you have a purpose- you can raise all of the babies, or you have a place to give them to or sell them to.
