My sugar glider is still afraid of me

Question
I have had my sugar glider Mika since Feb.of this year and she has been great fun to watch and carry around but she is STILL afraid of me! I talk to her, feed her, play with her, carry her around in my pocket but she still doesn't seem to trust me. She  gets scared when out of her pouch, almost frantic. When I walk past her cage she cowers. I have not done anything to encourage this behavior. I have spent LOADS of time with her, especially in a 1 person tent and in a new dedicated room for her to wander in but she still shakes and does not seem to like me at all. I have been wanting another glider, but didn't want to until my Mika Babe was tame and bonded. Now I'm thinking maybe another glider would give her more confidence. I have no idea what else to do.

Answer
Becca,

Gliders are much happier and calmer when they have a companion.  Have you read my article about bonding on my website?  nc.sugar.gliders.googlepages.com  Please read it for additional information on the bonding process.  There's also an article on introducing new gliders to each other.

Good luck, please keep in touch.
