Question
Hello just trying to find some advice ive got a female bearded about 1yr old and recently she has started to run up and down the front of the tank and straching and climbing the glass at the front. she also headbutts the glass as doing this. temps are hot end 32c cold end 26c, ive got a 90x45x45 exo terra viv. just wondering is this behaviour normal and will it stop

Answer
I'm not sure if it's related, but your hot end temps are really too cool for a bearded dragon.  The basking temperature should be about 37.5 to 38C.  Being a desert species that is omnivorous, they need a higher heat than most species.  (The hindgut fermentation used by reptiles to digest plant matter usually creates a higher heat requirement).

The tank size is on the lower end for bearded dragon requirements, but it should be sufficient if you provide some sturdy climbing branches or shelves.

Be sure that she has 2 single entrance hide caves, one on the hot side, and one on the cool.  A lack of cover is stressful for reptiles, and could make her try to find a more suitable area.  Your dragon's behavior suggests she isn't happy about something in her tank--perhaps she doesn't feel secure, there's not enough room, or the temperatures aren't good enough.  Fixing those things may make her stop trying to leave.

If you fix all of those things, and she's still scrabbling at the glass, consider putting a band of contact paper around the lower part of the tank.  Reptiles aren't equipped to understand glass, and she will just keep trying to walk through it if you don't cover it with something she can see.  The result of that can be very serious injuries to the face and claws, over time, so it's important to stop the behavior.  In the long run, if it continues, you may need to simply move her into a bigger cage.  Many people keep bearded dragons in cages the size of a 100 gallon tank  (60 gallon is the minimum recommendation, which is close to what you have now).
