Question
my rabbit seems to have a crick in his neck. It is turned to the right and sometimes almost completely upside down. I have been masausing it on both sides it doesnt seem to hurt him but also doesnt seem to help him. I contacted a freind here locally, Rhome TX USA, she said as best as she can find out it is called. wry neck. but no one seems to know what caused it or what i might do to help my little guy. he doesnt seem to be pain but has trouble eating and drinking because of the positon of his head.
I am hoping to find someone who can tell a little more on i can help him or make his life a little easier for him.
Hope you can help or send me to someone who can

Thanks
Brenda in Texas USA

Answer
Head tilt can be caused by an ear infection or by a parasite called e cunniculi.  A check by a rabbit knowledgeable vet would be the first order of business, so that he doesn't get any worse.

You can find more information about head tilt at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabrefs.html#tilt  You can also find a list of rabbit vets at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/PB_vets.html

Be aware that this can get worse before it gets better, it can take a lot of time and patience to bring him back to normal.
