peeing redish urine

Question
I found red urine in my dwarf bunny litter box.  It's not the first time, but this time its darker, more the color of blood.  She's acting normal, eating, drinking, playing.  Should she see a vet or is this normal sometimes.

Answer
Do not worry Beth - it is not a problem.  The orange to red coloring comes from a weed that grows in alfalfa fields that is harvested along with the alfalfa that is the main ingrediente in rabbit pellets.  It does not affect all rabbits the same - I have 200 rabbits eating the same feed and maybe 30 or so will have the colored urine.  Blood in the urine is very rare and when it does occure it looks like pink urine and clots of almost black blood.
