What breed ?

Question
She is a solid grey with a white tail and maybe a lighter grey in her stomach area. Her coat is rough not smooth and you can't really tell that she has curly hair unless she stretches out then she has some curly hair near her ribs. And I have started to comb her and she has a couple of knots. She has average length size fur it's just rough and kind of curly.

Question -
Hi I have a grey rabbit and my question is what breed is she? She's grey, has big ears that stand up, grows into a BIG rabbit, has curly hair, and looks kind of like a chinchilla breed. And for sure she isn't an angora rabbit.

Hi Vanessa,

hmmm, the curly hair kind of throws me off here.  If she has tri-color hair (white, black, blue/grey) this is typical chinchilla coloring.  Kind of like a wild rabbit agouti all the way through the body, just with the above colors.  Is she all solid color, or does she have markings, and if so, what are they and where are they?

When you say 'curly' I don't know how much curl or length you are talking about, so I can't really get an idea of just how this looks.  Is the hair long enough that it requires daily combing so that it won't get knots or matted together?

Do you know whether or not she is a mix, or a purebred?

At this point I'd need more info from you, but I could toss out the following possibilities to check:

- Blue Silver Fox
- Chinchilla
- Argent Creme

Write me back with nore info.  Lee

Answer
She could be an American grey.  The best bet is getting a book and looking up the breeds and trying to match her.

In the end, for pet owners, an exact breed isn't that important because you'll love her no matter what breed she is.  I have one bunny that I think I know what he is, but I don't know for certain.  It's okay if I don't know positively, it doesn't change anything about how I feel for him.
