What is a healthy weight for my bunny

Question
hello, I have two minilop bucks. They are one year olds. I am worried that they are becoming overweight, so I weighed one of them lastnight. The weight went over 2kg. The scales I have only went up to 2kg so I don't have an exact weight for them. All I know is that it went over 2kg.  It is coming on winter here in New Zealand.  Do they gain weight over winter?  They are only 1,  What should they weigh?

Answer
The ideal weight will depend on the individual rabbit. Rather going by weight (since most breeds have at least a pound difference between the minimum and maximum show weight, and not all rabbits naturally fit into the show weight, anyway), it is best to go by feel.

Open your palm and run it lightly down the back. You should not feel the spine. If you do, the rabbit is too thin. Now press a little harder and do the same thing. You should be able to feel the spine a bit if you are using some pressure. If not, the rabbit is likely overweight.
