rabbit worms causing fur loss?

my rabbit (rex-mix) has patching(loss of hair) on the back of his neck and on his back knees..also his ears look thin of hair. my question.. if this is worms (something with a L?) what can i do with out harming my bunny?

Dear Jennie,

It's not worms.  It is more likely to be some type of mite, and fur mites (Cheyletiella parasitivorax) tend to cause fur loss and flaking in rabbits without a lot of itching.  It also could be mange.  Please see:
