Question
Hi,
I live in an apartment and I'm interesting in growing grass for my rabbit. The growing would be done in a pot on the ledge of a window but I don't know what kind grass would be best for my Netherland Dwarf. Are there certain kinds of grasses that are better for rabbits than others?

I'm asking because online searches haven't really helped me out   (some people say wheatgrass is fine for bunnies but others say it's too sweet)

Answer
Hi Kaden. I think you would probably be best off to use an annual ryegrass. It will germinate quickly, grow fast, the seed is cheap, and it can be reseeded as you need it. You might try to keep about five pots going. Let the grass get about five inches tall before you cut any. Then cut off the top three inches of pot #1. the next day you can do the same with pot #2, then the following day cut pot #3 and so forth. By the time you have cut pot #5 you should have enough regrowth from pot #1 to start all over again. Be sure to introduce the grass to your bunny a little at a time. You may upset his digestion if you give him to much to fast.  Pat
