baby rat with protudung eye

Question
my 2 to 3 month old baby rat has a protuding discolores eye and shes constantly pulling her head towards the side of her body that the eye is on. Shes up and wanting to move and clean and eat, but something is definitly wrong. She was fine when I put her up last night, she lives with 2 other babies. I have isolated her, but the vet cant see her until tomorrow in the eve. Any suggestions? She also seems to be rubbing her hurt eye on the side of the plastic cage! Thanks!

Santana my one eyed bo Sounds like an eye infection.  My boy, Santana, lost his eye around 5 months old from infection. He is still the champ though (his picture is to the right)  The vet may try eye drops and  systemic oral antibiotics first and if the eye doesnt respond, they may need to remove the eye but if that happens dont fret, they recover and adjust perfectly fine.  Is your vet an exotic vet?
