is my rat ill?

i bought 2 pet rats today and have noticed that one of them keep making strange noises.  is sounds like grunting and churping.  this is the first time i have had rats so dont know much  about them.  when he sleeps he still makes a noise like hes gulping and grinding his teeth. should i get him checked out at the vets?

the teeth grinding (bruxing) is normal.. it's usually a sign made while a rat is anxious or content, kind of a catch all noise. The grunting and chirping could be normal, but normally indicates some sort of congestion in the chest/lungs or nasal passages, and should probably be checked out just to be safe if you have the means.
