hurt rat

My son started to shut a door and the rat's head was in the way; my son was able to stop the door from completely shutting, however, the door did hit the rat. Right afterwards, the rats eye was bulged and he was shaking his head and red stuff, I assumed was blood, was flying out. This happened a little while ago, he is now eating and the bleeding seems to have stopped, but his eye is still bulged. What should we do?

WHere are you located?  He needs a vet to check for internal injuries. Sometimes there are ER animal clinics that see exotics open but if he is ok now, he may wait till morning, but I would like to give you some names of good exotic vets regardless of what you decide to do (go in tonight if I find an ER clinic or wait till morning)
