Question
i've agreed to rescue 2 homeless girls 8months my girl is about 4-6 weeks looking at your boys
photos can be deceiving so i'm not sure but she looks like when we got her she was 4-5 weeks and she's been here a week so...
question is do you think if after they've all been here a month i can introduce the girls and eventually let the one girl join the other 2 in their cage or will they always be territorial of that space???? the new girls should arrive tomorrow i'm told one is sweet the other shy any tips?

Answer
After quarantine move the new girls cage next to the existing cage, putting cardboard between the cages so tails dont get in the other cages and may be bitten or degloved etc... from the other rats.  Let them get used to each others scent and after a few days, hold one while the other sniffs it etc... and when done slowly, they should be good together.  Putting them in the cage without first letting them warm up to each other is when fights start.   You can read on my critter city site about training shy rats here:
