female dumbo rat

we have a baby dumbo rat. About 4 months old. This last week we have noticed little spikey things on the rim of one ear. Now today they look like dried little yellow bumps. they don't seem to bother her but we have no idea what they are. Can you help us?

It may be a form of mites ( sarcoptic mites.) The fact it doesnt itch makes me even more suspicious that it is indeed the sarcoptic mites.  Treatment is simply topical ivermectin (I dont like the injections esp since rats lack alot of muscle mass to absorb the medication properly)

I would know better with a photo so if thats possible, please attach it for our follow up.  

Sweet little dumbo ears should not have any spikey things on them!  ;0
