Snitters eyes

Question
Hello, again! I recently have been bombarding you with questions about my buddy Rowf, who passed away two or three weeks after our last chat, and I'm here to bombard you again!

I got his brother two little buddies, to keep him company.

I quarantined them and then introduced them, and no issues arised. Snitter actually bruxed and boggled the whole time, and groomed them.

A little while after their meetings, one of the babies, Panzerfaust [weird name, I know] started sneezing, and is now making bubbly noises early in the morning, but not later on in the day until late night. He eats and acts normal, and his brother Posie seems fine.

Could he be having a myco flare-up or something of the sort? The place I got him from was a reptile shop, but the man who owns it takes proper care of them even if they are feed.

A second issue has arised, as Snitter, my big boy seems a bit distressed. At first, Rowf's death didn't seem to bother him, but now he doesn't seem as excited about life, and needs to be coaxed to the front of his cage sometimes. He's very happy at playtime, but other times he seems tired and a sad.

Just the other day, I noticed that when he woke up, porphyrin would build up in his left eye, and only his left eye, and when he'd blink, a drop of it would drip out, but he'd have no more after that. It seems to only happen when he wakes up from a nap, and not all the time. His eye also seemed dull for a short while, but has regained it's luster, lol.

It also concerns me that he may have lost a tiny bit of weight and doesn't seem to be cleaning his tail. Are these signs of depression, and stress, or could he be sick now?

Thanks for reading, and I hope the messages can get through now!

Answer
Do you have the new rats with Snitter?

Also, how old is he again?

As for the sneezing and any congestion you have, despite how well they may have been cared for, rats are born with mycoplasmosis and it only takes one thing to open the door to respiratory infection.  I suggest 30 days on antibiotics for him. Baytril for rats 4 months and up and zithromax for rats under 4 months.  If the zithromax doesnt help after three days, baytril should be used.  The benefits outweigh the risks.
