Question
Hello Sir,
Hope everything will be fine over there, n u will be enjoying good health with ur parrots.
Sir, i have been helped by many of ur suggestions, so i like to thank u first for solving our problems.
Last week i asked u a question about my Congo African Grey, who is a wild one, n not eating anything except SUN FLOWER SEEDS. U have given useful suggestions, but i like to ask another thing, i have an easy idea to convert him to fruits or vegs etc, ( if u don't think that this idea is a stupid one, lolz ), the idea is "can i give my Grey water in which banana, apple, other fruits or vegs r shaked ??? i will use fruits or vegs in a small quantity. So what u suggest ? will i use this idea or not ???
N secondly most of parrot owners in our city use a powder, i m writing the name and the things it contains.
VITASOL SUPER powder: (company: GlaxoSmithKline)  Each 100 gm contains      Vitamin A=2,000,000 iu,  Vitamin D - USP (Vet.)=400,000 iu,  Vitamin E - USP(Vet.)=160 iu,  Vitamin K=900mg,  Vitamin B(1) - BP(Vet.)=125mg,  Vitamin B(2) - BP(Vet.)=2,000mg,  Vitamin B(6) - BP(Vet.)=600mg,  Vitamin B(12) - BP(Vet.)=3,000mcg,  Vitamin C - BP(Vet.)=1,000mg,  Folic acid - BP(Vet.)=200mg,  Nicotinic acid - BP(Vet.)=10,000mg,  Calcium pantothenate - BP(Vet.)=3,000mg.
Sir sorry to ask this question bcoz i know u r not VET, but i m just asking u to answer if u know these vitamins, or acids r good for the health for my Grey, i will adjust the quantity of this powder to give my Grey.
And last question is that the feathers of my Grey r very rough n dirty, i have an ALEXANDRINE PARAKEET who uses to bath daily, so his feathers r very soft, so can i use a spray bottle to give my grey bath ? n can i also mix 1 or 2 drops of DETTOL in the water spray bottle so that it can protect my Grey from germs.??
Sir Thank u so very much for giving ur precious time in listening to our problems.
God bless u all. Bye

Answer
Hello again Shani.
After doing some research on Vitasol, I have found that it is only a supplement like a multi-vitamin.  You do not want to give it to your parrot every day because you can actually over-dose your bird and cause real problems for him.  It is also not very filling.
Continue to offer him fresh fruits and vegetables.  Eventually he will get curious enough to try them.  You can even cut back on his sunflower seeds so that he'll be hungry enough to try them.
You can even cook some meats for him and try to get him to eat that.  Being a wild bird, he will also probably eat some hot peppers (my Amazon Parrot, who is not wild, loves habenaro and jalepeno peppers).
I would not put them into the water as you are thinking because he may not drink the water and he will become dehydrated.
Also, using a spray bottle with water is a good idea, but use ONLY water.  Any kind of chemicals can be harmful to your bird.  You can also try putting a shallow bowl of water in his cage and let him bathe when he wants to do so.

Let me know how it goes.

God Bless.
