Is my parrot is changing feathers?

Hello;

I am a new owner of a parrot (small) and he is loosing his feathers ... maybe 1 or 2 daily ....

I think that he is happy, however, I starded to work again and he is missing me ...

He looks heathy and whistle the all day. I also know and one a year they change the feathers ..

Well, can you help me to see what is going on??

I am in Canada and the spring is coming ...

Sorry but english is not my first language!!

Hi Renata,

Yes, spring time is here and that is usually the time when birds start moulting their feathers.  This is a normal process however, it can make them a little crabby.  Be sure you bathe him regularly (early in the day and make sure there are no drafts where he dries off) and be sure he's getting a good diet (pellets, small amount of seed, fresh fruits and vegetables).   Also be sure he is getting 10 - 12 hours of dark, quiet sleep every night.

Spend a little extra time with him at night before bedtime.  I'm sure he'll appreciate the extra one on one time with you.
