Question
i recantly lost a mouse that would sit in my hand and stay there and even on my shoulder. I now have a new mouse and wold like for him too do that to any tips

Answer
Dear Cam,
thank you for your question.
Mice that are that tame are an exception. Most will take food from your hand and may allow themselves to be gently stroked, but they prefer not being handled. Offer food on your hand and/or just put your hand in the cage, let the mouse decide if she want to come to you. Don't catch her, this will only frighten her. Baking wafers or pumpkin seeds make good treats that almost every mouse will take from your hand.

I recommend getting a second mouse if your first is a female (another female). They are very social and feel lonely if kept alone. Introduce them on neutral ground, like the bathtub and then put them in a kritter keeper or a small cage, just with beeding and some hay. If they get along, they can move back into the normal cage. Clean the cage and the toys before with hot water and vinegar and add the toys one every other day.
I hope I was of some help to you
Jennifer
