males mouse fight... bad outcome

2 males mouse were put together in the same cage for a night and fought. one mouse got injured at the ears. missing bits of ears that seems to be wanting to heal but the mouse keep on scratching it. the base of the ears are red (almost to the blood) because it has been scratched constantly.

too poor to see a vet but will like to find a solution before ending it suffering.

Don't worry this can happen to the best of us. In hindsight it would have been a good idea to keep an eye on them. Your mouse will probably recover if he stops scratching so the wounds heal. I'm not sure what a vet could do so you would be probably be wasting your money. However, you are right to take him to the vet if he is suffering to end his pain. Some vets will not charge others will between $10 - $35. You may be able to find a wildlife rescue center and they usually don't charge for euthanasia.

They obviously won't get on so its a good idea to separate them. Mice are social creatures and need company and although human attention isn't the same it is a lot less stressful than keeping them together.
