Question
QUESTION: i trapped one wild mouse 3 days ago.after i cleaned the water.i wanted to change the toy tunnel i gave it.when i picked up the tunnel 2 mice came out!!!!!!now i did have a trap setup.but the trap was still there the next day.i had the trap on a speaker.maybe the mouse went pasted the trap & just fell into the trash bin.can a wild mouse drink water from a small bowl?

ANSWER: Sam,
It is possible for wild mice to drink from a small bowl but it will most likely throw all it's bedding inside or tip the bowl over or splash all the water out. If you don't mind changing the water two or more times a day then this is the way to go. If you're like me and you look for the easiest way to do things I would suggest getting a small animal water bottle from the pet store. You can check out Petco, Petsmart, and any other pet store in your area. I see that you have two wild mice, if it is possible to handle them you need to lift their tails and check their sex. If you have a male then you will see testicles protruding from just under his tail, a female will have visible nipples, male mice do not have any nipples.

If you have two different sexes of mice I would suggest you separate them or else you will have millions of babies running around before three months have passed. Now unfortunately I'm going to have to give you some bad news. Keeping wild mouse is a very bad idea. They could have countless diseases that can be transferred to you if they bite you, and they will bite you because they are not domesticated. You will most likely not be able to tame them unless you found them as babies. If you really want to have mice (who doesn't?) then I would suggest going to the pet store and buying two of the same sex. They are VERY cheap, most mice cost less than $5.00. Mice are social creatures and they get very lonely without a buddy.

If you need any more advice on housing mice, taming them, what to buy for them to live comfortably or if you'd like to start breeding some mice please let me know, I'm always available to answer. Do consider letting the wild mice go because in all honesty they will most likely never trust you and they could be carrying bad diseases that could make you and your whole family sick. If you want cute cuddly mice that will be easily tamed and are most likely a million times friendlier than the wild mice get some from a pet store or look up breeders in your area. You could even adopt one from a shelter. Good luck with your search for some fuzzy new additions to your family and do ask a follow up question if you need to.

QUESTION: what would happend if a wild mouse & a tame mouse were in the same cage?
one got away from the cage.it won't get away from a glass cage??

Answer
It all depends on if they are male or female. Two females will coexist very nicely. Two males will fight unless they are related, especially if there is a female scent around and judging by how easily you were able to catch mice in your house there are probably a few females hanging around. The wild mouse could transfer a disease to your tame mouse as well and your tame mouse could die. Still if you have a female wild mouse then I would suggest getting a tame mouse because the wild mouse will see that the tame mouse trusts you and will trust you much more quickly.
I myself have just gotten two new baby girl mice from a shelter as well as a young male mouse and they're much easier to tame because they see that my other mice trust me and run up to my hands. This makes taming much easier. If you have a male mouse this will be more difficult and I would suggest having him live alone. Otherwise either he or the tame mouse will fight to the death for dominance. I already answered your question about the cage in the other follow up question, hopefully you'll receive the answer in an e-mail shortly. Good luck!
