Wild orphaned baby mice on the loose

Question
Hi,
So there was a mouse in the basement and occasionally we would see her sneak up here. Then yesterday I didn't see her at all but I had heard some horrible squeaking.
Today sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor was little mouse. It's a baby about the size of a quarter and it just sat there while I boxed it up. Then I looked and another was in the formal living room (many mouse miles away)and I picked it up as well.
I don't think I can put them outside because they aren't the least bit fast and there are cats and fire ants etc which will definitely eat them.

They can climb around a little on the fluff in an old fish tank we put them in but they don't run really.
They sort of toddle like toddlers. The boys gave them crackers and grapes which they are happily eating.
They have eyes and ears open. We rubbed thier bums with qtips but they didn't potty and they didn't seem to care for it.

I spent most of the day looking for the rest of the family. Mommy mouse must have decided to come into the living room last night and she crawled under a chair and was flattened. She's quite dead.
I saw one more baby go by but I wasn't able to catch him because I am 9 months pregnant and couldn't reach him on the floor before he toddled off.

So what do I do with these mice? Any ideas how to catch the other babies? I don't think they'll find food without mommy.
I think that's why the other 2 we picked up were wandering around so openly at mid-day. They were looking for food I think?
Why don't they run away from people?
Will they ever figure out what to run away from without thier mom?

Answer
Dear Amber,

Because questions in the Question Pool aren't sent to an individual expert, gosh knows how long they will languish.  I happened upon your question just now and I don't know if you still need advice.  I suspect you have not only made your decisions about the mouse babies, but have also had your own baby by now!  Many congratulations.

Please let me know if you still have a question or need mouse advice!

squeaks n giggles,
