mouse rescue

My cat was trying to catch a mouse,so i jumped in and saved the little guy.he is about 6 weeks old.I am keeping him in a little glad container.But,I don't know what kind he is.how can I tell?

What a lovely person you must be to rescue him! I'm guessing he was still in shock when you caught him otherwise he would have been tricky to catch. Hopefully your cat didn't do any damage so once he has recovered release him in a suitable spot at least 2 miles from your house (or he will come back).

If you want to know what type of mouse he is the best thing is to google as there are many different species depending on where you live in the world - although deer and house mice is a good place to start. Look at the colouring and size as well as facial features.
