Answer
Hi Lonnie,
They can hide very well...many times they are actually hiding in plain sight.
Look on top of curtain rods, on the backs of curtains, inside clothes, inside drawers as they can climb into them from under or behind the furniture...The love to climb inside pant legs/shirt sleeves/etc. up under fridges, stoves..etc..  also check window sills, especially if the sun is shinning in one.
Block off all rooms, one at a time and search everywhere!!!  Once that room is "cleared" close it off again...sprinkle some flour on the floor(if possible) near a lamp that is placed on the floor(turned on, the hope is the ig will go to the light/heat) if he does, you will see the tail drag marks in the flour...you can place flour in doorways, etc also. Once you "clear" each room as above....sit back and just listen and look around...
If you have bathroom and or kitchen cabinets, generally at the base of them, above the kick plate there is an opening that they can crawl up into.
Place food and a light/heat source..hopefully he will be drawn to it.
Make sure that any other animals that have access to your home are placed in crates/cages (dogs/cats) so that they cannot get your green monster.
If your home is cool (in the low 70's or lower) then turn up the heat.  When igs get too cool they are inactive..warm up the room and it will help them stay active. The main thing is don't give up!!!!!!!!!!
