molting in a bad spot/loneliness for other crab

Question
I have 2 wonderful E's that are so full of life and lots of fun to watch.  The bigger of the two has dug down to molt I believe, but he has gone under the salt water dish.  I change this water every day so when I lift the dish up I can seem him in his little cave (it is open on the top because the dish covers the opening).  Is my changing this water going to disturb him and stress him out?  Should I move the dish and leave the open hole and hope he fixes it himself?  I don't want to not change the water as that won't be good for my other crab.  Any suggestions?  Also, will my other crab get sad being alone while the one is molting?  Should I get a 3rd crab to be a friend for my non-molting one??  Again, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
If I had a nickel for every crab I got because my other crabs were molting ROFL!!

As for the water dish molter, don't worry about him. As long as there's plenty of support and you are careful you should be able to get it in and out without disturbing it. I have several water dish molters.

Your crab will be okay until the end of the molt. Almost certainly the new crab would also dig down and then you'd hve two crabs down and one up!

Good luck!
