Question
So i have a 2 year old pointer/ lab mix.. she sometimes had accidents in the house mostly in my dads room because i think she was mad he left her.. He does baby her tooo much!! But she did go outside morning noon and night with no problems till one late night she got spooked she was freaking out barking and wouldnt move from the spot till my dad went to go get her and tell her it was ok.. ever since that day about 3 weeks ago she is scared to go outside even more at night and will not go pee or poop outside now.. if you do drag her outside she sits with her butt as close to the door as possiable and will not move an inch unless she sees you coming... even if you stand there with her she will just sit right up next to you. do you know why she would be doing this or how i can repair it..she is usually pretty easy to train... please help!!!

Answer
Desiree,
As a first step, I would work with her to reensure that the yard is a safe fun place.  The best way to get her to do this would be to take her out on a leash (or not, if she will come with you) and play with her after dark.  Throw the ball around and do all sorts of fun things.  Give her treats when she is playing and just try to make it really fun for her so she forgets about whatever scared her.  I'm assuming you have spot lights outside for her at night?  If not, that would be something else I'd try.  It may take a few days of playing with her outside, but as soon as she can associate the yard with something pleasant, it should make her forget about the scary experience.
