training a hunting dog

Hi. i was wondering if you know anything about training a hunting dog. We are going to get a German short hair pointer and i was just wondering if you knew anything on how to train them.thanks.

I know a bit about training herding dogs, and quite a bit about training general dog behaviors. But I've never specifically trained a dog to hunt. I'm a firm believer that I shouldn't give professional advice in areas where I don't have a lot of experience.
