Question
hi i gave a 2 month old male yorkie to my girlfriend as a present and the first few days it was a lay back dog that was playful and liked to be held now after 5 days of having it it starting to be more aggressive barking when not getting enough attention and wanting to be held but when held it would be  squirming around also we notice its biting who ever tries to pet it we try using a commanding voice to tell it to stop and it will but it would seem to get more aggressive and keep biting is there any tips that would help to control any of this and make it into a calm dog

Answer
What you describe sounds like pretty normal puppy behavior. Puppies bark and mouth in play, and when over-stimulated. When a pup bites in play the best thing is to get up and leave- every time. If you don't participate, it's not fun. Trying to restrain a puppy or quick movements around the face (like trying to grab the muzzle) stimulate the biting reflex. My suggestion to you is that you find a really good positive-based puppy class to teach the pup alternate behaviors. Additionally, teaching the dog and asking him to think makes for calm.
