Dog training invisible fence

Question
We have a 1 year old mix lab we rescued from the shelter two months ago. She is very bright, well behaved, and gets lots of walks and runs outside of the yard. The problem is she has a habit of escaping our fenced yard on occasion. We installed an invisible fence and trained her on it. The problem now is that any time she hears a beep, like the morning alarm, the microwave, the TV she runs and jumps in our lap.  How can we teach her the difference between the yard alarm and other alarms that are ok, or is this something she will just get used to over time?

Answer
Unfortunately, you've made her noise phobic, as she is terrified that she is going to be shocked, which is why I never recommend invisible fencing for dogs.  While it's possible she may eventually realize that the everyday beeps she hears will not lead to a shock, it's just as likely that she may never get it, and either way, it's pretty sad that she has to live in fear.  One thing you could try is to feed her a really cool treat as the beep is about to go off and continue until it goes off.  Gradual desensitization to those beeps might help.
If it were me, I'd install a solid fence with a coyote roller if she's prone to climbing, or possibly deer fencing (which can be purchased in heights beyond which dogs can jump, is unobtrusive, and can be staked to the ground, too, to prevent digging under).
