Cocker Spaniel with seizure disorder

Question
Thanks for taking my question, I have a 6 year old Cocker Spaniel who started having seizures last summer. He is now on Phenobarbital  twice a day and is has practically eliminated the seizures. However since the seizures stared he will occasionally pee in the house.  He has been completely trained since he was a puppy so I'm wondering if the regressive behavior may be related to the medication.

Thank you for your help

Answer
Hi Beth, Sorry about the Seizure disorder.  Yes, you are correct about the Phenobarb and pee accidents.  It is related.
Try to control his water intake.  Make sure he gets water but not an over abundance.
You may want to pick up the water and offer it every 2-3 hrs.
( if you live in a HOT area, this will Not be an option)

You can give him some supplements to help with the kidneys and bladder health.
We use Cranberry and NuVET -
See my post here: VERY helpful to KEEP the kidneys healthy:

As a Last Resort:  When you can't keep an eye on your boy:

Bad boy pants or the Male Belly Band.

As soon as you get outside removed the belly band right away and tell him to go Pee.

Here is what it looks like - found in most pet stores...
I buy  on line for better colors and fabric.
This lady does a good job:
This comes in handy...

YOU can place a female maxi pad inside the band...wrap.
