Questioni have a 3 year old yorkie and she is really hyper and barks alot, sometimes she barks just because she feels she is not getting enough attention, like she will really get in your face and beg for your attention and we try to ignore it because its getting out of hand. But, what my question is, is if we mate her will she calm down some.

Don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like you have spoiled your little princess. Since she is 3 years old it is going to be hard to get her unspoiled. I suspect that a couple of things could happen if she were to get pregnant. The first could be that she would be jelous of her puppies and the attention that you would have to give them. This could cause her to not take care of them and/or become aggressive towards them. The second is that if she is hyper because she has a nervous condition (not uncommon in Yorkies) and if she has puppies her behavior could become even more hyper.
Mating her is not a guarantee that she will settle down. In fact you face the chances that it could make her worse. I suggest that you consider some dog obedience courses to get her under control before you consider having puppies. If you cannot afford classes you can try looking on the internet for training information. There are some good websites out there that can give you practical training methods and they only charge a small fee for the information.
The other possibility would be to take her to your vet and see if he can prescribe medication that would calm her down. If her nervous behavior is not a result of her being spoiled medication may be the only thing that you can do to calm her down. Dogs are a lot like people and they now have medications for dogs just like people.
