Are there ever cases when Pit Bulls develop longer than normal hair? Both parents are purebred, but after a couple of weeks 2 of the puppies developed longer hair similar to the hair of a Saint Bernard.

Yes, there are apparently some cases in which they can have longer hair. I have never seen one myself, but I do know that it is a "disqualification" in conformation, so it must be something that happens from time to time. I do not, however, know what causes it. I am sorry that I cannot help you more.
