chocolate lab pregnant?

Question
QUESTION: I have a 11 month old chocolate lab and she was in the kennel while my family and I were on holidays....While she was in the kennel, she went into heat and was still in heat when we picked her up.  My black lab tied to her twice but he is spayed.
Since her heat, she has had swollen teets that are getting bigger daily and she is sleeping alot but her tummy is only getting a little bigger(hardly noticeable).  Does a false pregnancy happen right after heat?  and if so, how long does a false pregnancy last?
Could she be pregnant?

ANSWER: I would see the vet.  One would hope the kennel would have realized she was in heat and kept males away from her.  Besides, it is at least a week before the fertile time starts.  My guess is that she isn't pregnant.  However, even a fixed male can cause an infection.  That can be very serious.  Better let a vet figure out what is going on.

QUESTION: Just was curious about the "even a fixed make can cause an infection" What kind of infection?

The kennel had a stud in to breed their lab when my dogs were in there so that was why I was asking.

We had a appointment to have her fixed the week we got back from holidays and as soon as she is done whatever she is going through, she will be fixed.

Answer
Pyometra is a common one and quite dangerous.  There are others, but it isn't an area I am strong in.  Your vet knows.  It is just as well you did plan to spay her.  Infections sometimes leave them sterile and sometimes can best be stopped by removing the uterus.
