Question
my dog likes to cling onto my leg and move her bumb back and forth. she is almost "humping" my leg. it is gross. do you know why she is doing this? she is 4.5 months old and a bichon/poodle cross.

Answer
Hi  Jailynn,   This is a dominance/sexual behavior.  Your dog is "testing" you to see if you are going to be the submissive participant.   I would think it better if you were the boss.  Get a short piece of light, plastic rope or "leash".  Hook it to her collar & let her drag it around when you are home supervising her.
When she jumps on your leg like this, grab the lead & jerk her down with the leash, not your hands.   Scold her harshley & put her in her crate & scold her some more.  When you finally let her back out, don't make a big fuss about it, just open the door & walk away.  It helps if your dog crate has a wire top (not the closed, plastic type) so you can stand over her, scold & scowl at her from a place of authority.  This is a common problem & not hard to correct if you stick to the basics.  Try not to take training shortcuts like getting her spayed, it's way overrated.
Thanks for asking & good luck,  Rob
