Cat is very aggressive after moving

Question
Hi, my two cats, 6 years old and 4 years old have lived together with no problems since I adopted the 4 year old. They moved twice and have had no problems. I moved again this past weekend and since then, the 6 year old has been hissing and attacking the 4 year old. They traveled together in the same car on the way over, but the 4 year old was on my lap because I can't get her to go in her carrier. Do you think this had anything to do with it? Will this go away once they get comfortable with the new home? or is this a deeper problem? I hate to see the younger one beat up. Should I move them or one of them back to my parents (my last home)? I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

Answer
Hi Christie,

Sounds like it hasn't been very long since you moved.  It is my experience that when cats are stressed they will begin to lash out at each other, I would not worry as they begin to get used to the new environment this new behavior will go away and get back to normal.  In the meantime, if it's still a big problem, you may want to seperate them when you are not there to supervise but it should be ok in a couple of days.
