Question
I have a 4 month old man kitten , who is urinating on my bed but does not do it all the time . what can i do for him to stop doing that ?

Answer
Dave,

It is possible he has urinary crystals. He is pretty young for that but it does happen. They get them from eating too much fish or fish flavored prodeucts which is too high in magnesium, and from generic brand cat food which is too high in ash. The crystals are very painful and the cat associates that pain with the litterbox so they go elsewhere. And, for current or future information, if the crystals are not treated in time they can cause a blockage which is always fatal in male cats.

Its always good to have a checkup by the vet to rule out a medical problem as the cause of the behavior.

Is the kitten neutered? If not it is time. He could be coming into heat.

One common reason for that behavior is the cat is telling you that he is upset at you for some reason. Have there been any changes in the household? New people? New pets? Have you left him for a couple of days?

I am including a link for a site that has some very good articles on improper elimination. They should be of help to you. Copy and paste, or type the whole link into your address bar:

Hope this helps. Unfortunately, since I don't know enough  about your kitten I can't tell you exactly why he is doing it, only the possiblities.
