My Cats litter box really stinks

We have a litter box in our basement in the furnace room.  My parents never wanted cats but I got them to keep this one, but the litter box really stinks and my parents are getting disgusted.  This is also happening with my hamsters and guinea pigs, they all REALLY stink. Is there anything you know of that could get rid of the horrid smell. I don't want to get rid of my animals, even though they really stink. Please help me!

Get Tidy Cat Crystal Blend SCOOPABLE cat litter. It has nice smelling crystals that release when the cat uses it. No smell.
Plus you need to scoop it at least once a day. Do not use clay litter...that smells and you have to empty the whole litter tray frequently with that type of litter.

As for the hamsters, I don't know much about gerbils except you need to put fresh sawdust in their cage often.

Also get a plug in room deodorizer (or 2).
