Question
My cat follows me EVERYWHERE I go.... I love it, but, is this normal?

Answer
Carol,

Yes, it's normal for some cats. You are his 'buddy'.

Some cats behave like dogs. I had one cat that when I got my car keys out he would run to the door because he wanted to ride with me where ever I went! And three of my cats "fetch" and bring back their toys when I throw them. Have you tried that? Have you tried a pet laser light? It is funny to watch the cat try to catch the 'little red bug' on the floors, walls, and ceiling...or outside at night where they run in a big area to try to get that 'darn elusive bug'!

Some cats are very just very affectionate and need that 'bonding' and 'closeness' to their human.

AND some cats are just plain nosy and want to know where you are going and why! *smile*

If the cat is tripping you when you walk then he is telling you to 'stop'! Usually because they are hungry. A bowl of a good quality dry cat food, available all the time so they can munch when they are hungry, usually stops that.

You may want to think about getting him/her a kitty friend about his same age and temperament to play kitty games with, to snuggle with, and for company when he is by himself. It's not good to have a cat TOO dependant on a human for companionship.

His behavior shows that he loves and trusts you, and that you are the 'dominant' cat of the family. That's nice.
