Question
Hi! I have 4 beautiful kids- uh, I mean cats... and about 10 weeks ago one of them gave birth to 4 healthy, adorable kittens. We have just recently given her kittens away, but now her breasts are extremely swollen with milk. They are very tight and I know that it must be causing quite some discomfort for her. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Will nature just take care of this problem by itself? Did I potentially give the kittens away before they were really ready? Should I take her to a vet? Thank you so much for your time and please help shed the light that you can on this situation.

Answer
well generally i tell people to let the mother ween them b4 you give them away,(sometimes its 3 or 4 months) its just that mothers milk is so much better for them then anything else, it builds thier immune system and gives them healthy skin and coats. You should call the vet and ask if there is anything they can do for her or if there is anything you can do for her to help her out.
the only experience ive had similar to this was having a cat fixed after her kittens were given away, her milk dried up in a few days and she was fine, but she had weened them and they were 3 months old.
im sorry but im just not sure what to do when they are still producing milk. im so sorry i cant help you.
