pollets ???

hi not sure how to spell maybe pollets or pollits my cat toby had an op because he had some in his ear, lump type things he also has some on his chin what are they and are they pain full as i cant find any thing about them

Hi Jamie,

I think what you're referring to are polyps, little sac-like growths that are inside certain areas of the body.  I've never heard of them in the ear before, they're usually in the nose or large intestine, but I suppose that's possible.  They're not painful but they can cause blockages such as limiting hearing in the ears or blocking the flow of air in the nose.  I doubt that's what is on his chin as polyps are usually inside something, what you may be seeing on his chin is feline acne.  If you use plastic bowls for his food and water this may be building up bacteria and is causing the acne.  Switch to metal or ceramic bowls and see if it clears up.
