QuestionMany years ago I read about black and white pattern cats in ancient China that they called flower cats--mostly white with a black tail and one or more black asymetrical spots. I can't find the book where I read about them. Have you ever heard of them?
AnswerHi Faye. I think you're referring to the Chinese Harlequin. It's accepted under the foundation registry by TICA (The International Cat Association) - it is not eligible for show and is on the books as a cat that may be used to develop a breed for championship down the line. But to my knowledge, the breeding program has mostly been dropped due to difficulty getting consistent markings.
