My cat of 11 years is losing a lot of weight but is eating like a pig i can not fill him.he has insurance but he can not stand going to the vets

There are a number of things that it could be from fairly non life threatening (e.g. tapeworm) to very serious (e.g. diabetes).  So I would bite the bullet and take your cat to your vet.
