QuestionThanks for your anwser on my cat.She seems a whole lot better!(saline water and once off use of Oxylin). The online order will take a couple of days and the weekend is also at hand.I do have the following ointments apart from Terramycin:Maxitrol sterile ophthalmic ointment,Fucithalmic Viscous Eye Drops and Terra-cortil,Which can I use in the meantime? Thanks!
AnswerHello again! The Maxitrol and the Terra-Cortil also contain steroids, so I wouldn't use these, either. However, the Fucithalmic is a decent choice for treating eye infections in cats! You can use this to treat the infection, but if you begin using it, be sure to continue using it for a full 7-10 days, and use it instead of the Terramycin. If you use the Fucithalmic for only a couple of days, you may run the risk of creating bacteria that become resistant to ophthalmic antibiotics. If you've already ordered the Terramycin, keep it on-hand in case of another infection or irritation. It's excellent to use in case of any inflammation or infection that arises.
