Vomitting

Question
I have a "tuxedo" cat who is about 2 years old.  He has been vomitting for a day and-a-half now and it appears to be just bile.  Do cats get the flu?  Should I let it run it's course or get him in to see his vet?

Answer
Hi Theresa!  If his appetite has decreased and he is crying in the litter box get him to your vet immediately.  Male cats tend to develop urinary tract blockages in which the biggest symptoms is vomiting bile.  The blockage is due to crystals in the urine and your veterinarian can easily unblock him with a urinary catheter.  It is important to get him to your vet promptly, especially if his litter box habits have been abnormal.
Please let me know how it goes!
