Question
im trying to become a veterinary assistant. But I don't know how to get there. Some say you don't need to take classes and some say you do. So what classes would I have to take. And whatever other helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

Answer
Good question and the answer is slightly different in every state.

In general, the more training you get (becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician - and even the name differs in different states - with 2-4 years of college classes in an Accredited Veterinary Technician program) the more money you will make and the more helpful to animals you will be.

Contact your local veterinary state board for more information and/or go to www.aavsb.org for information about the national exam.

Glad you want to have a career in animal health. We need a lot more well trained people in this profession. Also learn Reiki, massage, HTA, TTouch, Flower Essences, etc.

you can work in a clinic and get on the job training, but you will not be as well paid.
