Question
I was informed cedar wood oil is safe for use on cats...i have since found out it is very toxic and i had already used it on both my cats...my young cat now has a bald spot and the older cat is getting one...I washed them both with dawn dishsoap and put neosporin on the spots....My question is...Is there anything else i can do for my cats?? I cant afford to take them to the vet!!

Answer
You have done the right thing by washing it off.  The problem with cedar wood oils is the phenolic compounds that are in the oils.  Cats' livers cannot detoxify phenols and that's why it is toxic.  Check the label of your product to see if it contains phenols.  If it does not, then your cats are much  less likely to have any other reactions.
