mystery snails in my tank

Question
i have noticed that there are two very small translucent snails in my tank. i also have two stripped, one black mystery snail, and one yellow mystery snail.

i have read that snails eggs are very noticeable, but i have never noticed any eggs. i also read that the eggs are in clusters of ten, but again, i never saw any eggs. do you know where my mystery guests have come from?

another question i have is regarding my freshwater plants. Lately, the tips of the plants have been turning black. More recently (the last couple of days) they have been turning a reddish/brown color. What is happening to my plants?

Thank You,
Tara Cooley

Answer
Your snail problem has most likely come from your live plants which is very common. Sounds as if your plants are dying. It is very difficult to keep live aquarium plants, you can either do very well or you dont have much luck with them.
Depending on the fish you currently have you can get snail eating fish to eliminate your snail issue as it will only get worse being they are asexual.
Best of luck and happy fish keeping.
