QUESTION: Hey Ron

What are the best fish for cycling a tank?

As my new tank is set and i wanted to cycle in with fish for four weeks.

ANSWER: Hi Joel,
 The best way to cycle a tank is to just put a few fish in the tank of whatever type of fish you want to keep.  If it is a smaller tank, like a 10 gallon tank, then just put in two fish.  You can add more fish after a few weeks.

 How large is the tank, and what do you eventually want in it?

QUESTION: The tank is a 30 gallon, and i was plannig on having -
6 Danios
2 Dwarf Gouramis
8 Cardinal Tetras
3 Guppies
3 Platies
3 Peppered Cories

Hi Jack,
  Start with the guppies and then put in the platties about a week later.  After a couple of weeks you can add in some of the other fish.  

  Be sure to do regular weekly 25% water changes each and every week.
