jack dempsey had babies

QUESTION: We have a 55 gallon tank with all kids of fish ,the jacks had babies so we
separated the mom dad and babies on one side of the tank is this a good idea?

Hi Shannon,
 Well, the babies are at risk as long as they are small enough to be eaten by the fish on the other side of the barrier.  It could take several months for them to grow large enough to be more or less free of danger.
