My koi has lost his scales

Hi I cleaned out my fish pond yesterday as with all the sun it had started to go green! i have noticed my ghost koi and another koi have lots of their scales missing (the ghost practically has none left!!! What shall I do?

Hi Becky,
 I am sorry for not answering.  I am actually in the middle of the Costa Rican rainforest right now and email is spotty.   

 As far as the fish scales, I have no idea what would cause that.  Do you have a proper filter on the pond?
