Question
I have a 90 gallon fish tank and already have four small assorted africans in there and wanna populate it with american and african cichlids as well as small crabs and fresh water lobsters is the possible with plenty of hiding space and if any do u recommend any other types of colorful cichlids to put in the tank I also have a pair of Frontosa on order thank for u help

Answer
Hi Edward,
I do not recommend mixing African and American cichlids.  In general, African and American cichlids behave differently and this can create problems when they are put together -- in short, they do not understand each other.  Occasionally it works, but most often it ends in a lot of dead fish.
